I have received a few letters from website visitors, that have investigated Mysticism and feel that they should join a particular religion, rather than study Mysticism. If you have a feeling that you want to be on a Spiritual Path, and you investigated Mysticism, and feel that you prefer to become a member of a "regular" religion, you should do what your "heart" tells you. Being on a Spiritual Path, many times, is not always on a straight line. Where we want to go at the time, can sometimes have several interuptions on the way to our final destination. We are all at a different place spiritually and we must have certain experiences before we arrive at the destination we want. Listen to the Master within for advice. Your Spiritual Path is too important for you to be haphazard in your choice. There is much information available on the web today, but be very careful, some of it is worthless and even dangerous. Take your time before you come to any firm conclusions. Sometimes it is important to consult others that are more advanced, and can give you the advantage of their mistakes in choosing a Spiritual Path.

A few students want to pursue their studies in Mysticism and also belong to a religious group. This can be done and there is no reason why you cannot. In fact the last three Imperators of the Rosicrucian Order recommended this for students that feel comfortable with it. Usually the student can render a useful service to the Church with his knowledge of Mysticism. Most students of Mysticism become so involved in the study that after a few years, they devote their full time to the study of Mysticism and becomming a Mystic.

My personal experience is along this line of thought. I studied Mysticism for several years from AMORC when I got the idea I wanted to join a liberal religion and drop my studies. I did just that and joined Religious Science or Science of Mind. I attended services every Sunday, as a member of that particular religion, studied my lessons and this satisfied me for about three years. At the end of that time I felt like I should go back to AMORC and resume my studies. I probably had to have this experience before I could realize that my membership and studies in Mysticism was exactly what I wanted. This diversion helped me to realize that I was really interested in pursuing my studies in Mysticism. Perhaps I needed that diversion to have certain spiritual experiences before I was ready to resume my studies in Mysticism.

Your Spiritual Path is the most important aspect of your life. Do not do anything until you meditate and contemplate on it for awhile. If you cannot make up your mind, consult some reliable person that you know that is knowledgeable on the subject. Listen to him/her; but in the end you have to make up your own mind with meditation/contemplation, and listen to the Still Small Voice within.
