THESE WORLD RELIGIONS ARE OUR HERITAGE, ALL BELIEVE IN THE SAME GOD

Inter-religious Tolerance, Acceptance, Understanding = World Peace

Many of our ancient and recent wars have been fought in the name of religion. Man distrusts people of different religious groups; even to the point of considering them profane and satanic. The modern world is a "small" place with the advent of modern communication methods. Lets take the obvious - the internet: It is important that we all come to our senses and realize that much of the old way of thinking is wrong. We must accept our brothers and sisters of all spiritual congregations and embrace them and realize that there is very little difference between the various religions. All religions listed above have the same teachings, probably even came from the same source. All have a belief in the true (same), God. There are many definitions of God in the scriptures, but man can only speculate on this subject. The religions that mention several Gods are actually enumerating the attributes of one God.

We cannot sit back and allow man-kind to try to destroy each other physically and mentally, just because they are a member of a different religious group. We are about to enter the year two thousand and we have the same mind-set that was prevalent one thousand years ago. We should vow to immediately change this unbearable situation. It must be done on a personal basis first, and then extended into other areas. The most logical first step is to start by studying comparative religion. We have to understand that the World Religions have much in common. We should eliminate prejudice, which is even encouraged by some religious groups to discourage their members showing an interest in other groups. If your group is doing this, drop them immediately and join another one, that is more ecumenical in their approach to other religions. Let take the first step by reading a good book on comparative religion. An excellent text "World Scripture - A Comparative Anthology of Sacred Texts" is highly recommended. The complete text is also available on the internet. This text has been prepared by experts in the various religions of the world.

Other preliminary steps are necessary, but each person will have to follow their creative ideas. Affiliating with various organizations, especially found on the internet, is a good way to join with others that have the same mission. I recommend the United Communities of Spirit. They have a variety of programs that one can join according to one's primary interest. Click on the icon below for more information. One last thing that is important is to visit other churches, temples and religious meetings so that you can get a first hand appreciation for other religious groups.
