A Brief Definition For Rosicrucianism

Rosicrucianism is a body of Mystical knowledge starting with the Mystery Schools of Egypt and migrating to Greece and many other countries of the world. It became popular in Europe during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. It migrated to America during the seventeenth century because of Sir Francis Bacon's book "The New Atlantis". It eventually became inactive until 1915 when a new cycle was started by Dr. Spencer Lewis and later joined by his son, Ralph Lewis, in San Jose, California. These Imperators revised the teachings to make them more relevant today. The teachings are presented in a unique manner to the student, that has proven to be very successful and practical today. The popularization of these studies today is due to the work of the Lewis' and the present traditional Imperator, Gary Steward of the CR+C. Some of this knowledge is private and given only to the Rosicrucian students that are found to be worthy. The other studies are from the Kabbalah and other bodies of knowledge such as Hermeticism, Alchemy, Metaphysics, Philosophy, etc. Rosicrucianism contains esoteric and exoteric studies. The Rosicrucian Manual by H. Spencer Lewis and published by The Supreme Grand Lodge of AMORC is a very important reference book for all students of Mysticism. This book is no longer published, but is obtainable at many libraries, second hand book stores, etc. Try to purchase a copy if possible. There are many second hand book sources on the internet that you might try.
